  • “Reacher” returns to streaming service Amazon Prime Video with season 2.
  • Showrunner Nick Santora now talked about which of Lee Child’s novels the series will adapt in season 2.
  • What is already known about the plot, the start date and the cast of the sequel.

The action series “Reacher” has barely been released in the program of streaming service Amazon Prime Video, and already a 2nd season has been ordered. So the hunky Jack Reacher is well received by viewers.

Warning: Spoilers about the plot and finale of “Reacher” Season 1 will follow from here on!
The premiere edition of “Reacher” comes to an exceptionally satisfying end for viewers. Jack Reacher finds out who killed his brother and the case is closed. But Reacher realizes that he has drawn a lot of attention to the small town of Margrave.

Therefore, the ex-military policeman decides to leave. Roscoe Conklin (Willa Fitzgerald) still gives him her phone number and hopes to see her again in the future. Jack Reacher also says goodbye to Finlay (Malcolm Goodwin) – and goes his own way…

Only a strange encounter with an elderly gentleman could prepare the plot of the 2nd season – but behind the meeting in the diner is actually a treat for “Reacher” fans.

When will the 2nd season of “Reacher” start?

Although Amazon Prime Video has officially confirmed a 2nd season of “Reacher,” there is currently no start date for the new episodes. No wonder, after all, season 1 was only released in February 2022 and now the scripts for the sequel have to be written and a date for filming has to be found.

“Reacher” Season 2 should then appear on the streaming service in a year at the earliest. So it should be ready in spring or summer 2023 at the latest.

Trailer and images for “Reacher” Season 2

At the moment, neither a trailer nor first images for the 2nd season of “Reacher” have been released. As soon as there are news and releases here, we will of course inform you about them immediately.

What will “Reacher” Season 2 be about?

For season 1 of “Reacher”, “Killing Floor” (German title: “Größenwahn”) by Lee Child was adapted, the first novel of the series. Therefore, it could be assumed that in season 2 it will be the turn of the 2nd novel “Die Trying”.

However, in an interview with US magazine TV Line, showrunner Nick Santora said, “Don’t assume that we’re going chronologically and don’t assume that we’re not going chronologically. Because we really don’t know [at this point].”

If the 2nd novel is adapted, we will see Jack Reacher, along with an FBI agent, being kidnapped by the terrorists of the Montana Militia, a group that wants to achieve independence from the United States.

The majority of the action then takes place in the headquarters of this militia, where there are about 100 people under the leadership of the sadistic leader Beau Borken. Meanwhile, the FBI and other parts of the state apparatus are feverishly searching for the agent who was kidnapped together with Jack Reacher. They also want to put a stop to the militia or para-military. However, they have a mole at the FBI, who proves to be extremely useful.

And that’s all we can say at this point! If you’re curious, you can of course get “Delivered” as a book and already find out what happens next for Reacher.

Production and cast of “Reacher” Season 2

There is no official information about this yet. Since the second season of “Reacher” – see the synopsis above – will take place in a completely new location, only the return of lead actor Alan Ritchson as Jack Reacher is currently certain.

Furthermore, Maxwell Jenkins could return as the young Jack Reacher. However, it is also possible that this part will be recast for season 2, if young actor Jenkins looks too old at the beginning of filming for the new episodes.

By the way, all told, there are a whopping 26 novels that could still be adapted for the future of the Amazon Prime series!
