Power Book II: Ghost Season 3: Casting

Since in the middle of season 2 the fate of the characters has not been determined yet, for now you can assume that you will see all the actors and actresses again. The main role of Tariq St. Patrick will be played by Michael Rainey Jr (“Orange is the New Black”).

In addition, you’ll see Shane Johnson (“Power”) as Cooper Saxe and Melanie Liburd (“This Is Us”) as Caridad “Carrie” Milgram. Daniel Bellomy as Ezekiel “Zeke” Cross, Paige Hurd (“Hawaii Five-0”) as Lauren Baldwin, “Power” actress Naturi Naughton as Tasha St. Patrick and Alix Lapri as Effie round out the cast.

In addition to “Empire” star Keesha Sharp, other stars will join the cast for Season 3. Recent additions include David Walton (“About a Boy”), Monique Curnen (“The Dark Knight,” “Sons of Anarchy”) and Moriah Brown (“Raising Dion”).

Sharp will portray Professor Harper Bonet, a progressive intellectual and boho beauty. Walton will take on the role of Lucas Weston, an adventurous, left-leaning executive at his family’s Wall Street firm.

Curnen, who starred as former NYPD detective Blanca Rodriguez in Season 1, now returns as a regular in her role in Season 3. Brown will portray Kiki Travis, a young vice president of a Wall Street firm who does not come from a privileged background. Also starring in other roles are:

  • Mary J. Blige (“The Umbrella Academy“) as Monet Stewart Tejada, head of the Tejada drug cartel.

  • Clifford “Method Man” Smith, Jr. (“Marvel’s Luke Cage”) as Davis Maclean. Tasha’s attorney
  • Larenz Tate (“Power”) as Rashad Tate
  • Daniel Sunjata (“Grey’s Anatomy”) as Dante Mecca
  • Berto Colon as Lorenzo Tejada, Monet’s husband
  • Woody McClain as Lorenzo “Cane” Tejada Jr
  • Alix Lapri (“Power”) as Effie, Tariq’s ex-girlfriend

Also joining the cast are cast:ins Gbenga Akinnagbe (“The Deuce”), Kyle Vincent Terry (“Gotham”) and Caroline Chikezie (“Mayhem”). Akinnagbe will play Ron Samuel Jenkins, a Howard University and Harvard Business School graduate who has started his own empire.

Terry will portray Obi, a young man who has experience with weapons but is more comfortable in the pre-bar room. Chikezie, on the other hand, will play Noma, a powerful woman with almost regal grace who knows how to defend her empire by any means necessary.

Power Book II: Ghost Season 3: Production

Once again, “Power” series creator and showrunner Courtney A. Kemp (“Good Wife”), Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson and Mark Canton will executive produce. In addition, Brett Mahoney and Chris Selak round out the Season 3 team as executive producers, with Geary McLeod (“Grey’s Anatomy” among others) taking on the roles of producer and director of the series.
