Fair Play is an upcoming erotic thriller written and directed by Chloe Domont. This is Chloe’s first directorial debut. Fair Play follows a young couple whose relationship suffers following an unexpected promotion at a cutthroat hedge fund firm.
Phoebe Dynevor and Alden Ehrenreich play the lead role in ‘Fair Play’. In the recent trailer release for the movie, fans got to see the chemistry between the two. Along with Phoebe and Alden, Sebastian de Souza, Eddie Marsan, and Rich Sommer star in the movie.
The movie is set for a limited theatrical release on September 29, 2023, followed by a Netflix release on October 13, 2023.
Fair Play: Phoebe Dynevor and Alden Ehrenreich
This is the first time that the duo will be sharing screen space. Phoebe is best known for her role in Netflix’s Bridgerton (2020-2022). Ehrenreich, better known as Han Solo from Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018) was also part of Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer.
Alden began his career by appearing in Supernatural (2005). Following supporting roles in Tero (2009), and Stoker (2013), his breakthrough role came from the Coen brothers comedy, ‘Hail, Caesar!’ (2016).
Phoebe Dynevor began her acting career as a child actress in BBC One’s drama, ‘Waterloo Road’ (2009-2010). She also played roles in ‘Prisoners’ Wives’ (2012-2013) and Dickensian (2015-2016).
Fair Play: What to Expect?
The newly engaged couple Luke (Alden) and Emily (Phoebe) work together at a hedge fund firm. Things take a turn for the worse when Emily gets a promotion over Luke. This gives rise to jealousy and slowly the walls start closing in on their relationship.
In an interview with Vanity Fair, Director Chloe Domonot speaks more about the movie’s premise.
“Why is it that even today, with all the progress that we’ve made, a man’s success is a win for the relationship, but when it’s the other way around, it feels like a threat?” she says. “It felt like something that so many of us experience but are afraid to talk about and to confront.”
