David Duchovny Explores the Theme of Loss in His Latest Film at Tribeca Film Festival

David Duchovny shares that his latest film explores the theme of loss, particularly focusing on a devoted Boston Red Sox fan who anticipates their eventual defeat to the New York Yankees in a crucial tie-breaker game. Duchovny reflects on the contrasting mentality of New York, where the emphasis is often on winning and the belief that success in the city signifies success anywhere.

However, Duchovny, despite being a New Yorker himself, expresses his personal disconnection with this mindset and even resents it to some extent. He believes that in sports, as in life, both winning and losing are integral parts of the journey. Duchovny wanted to create a movie that delves into the significance of losing, highlighting how it can be a valuable and transformative experience from which we learn and grow. Notably, the 2023 Tribeca Film Festival is currently taking place throughout New York City until June 18th.
