The Star Wars series Ahsoka brings back many familiar characters from the star saga and continues to tell their story. After eight episodes, however, it is clear that this story is far from over. On the contrary, it has only just begun. Here you can find all the important information about Ahsoka’s future in the Star Wars universe.
Will there be a 2nd season of Ahsoka?
The second season of Ahsoka has not yet been officially confirmed. However, there are currently many indications that the series will be extended. The first eight episodes feel like the build-up to a much bigger story. Last but not least, lead actress Rosario Dawson has expressed her interest in continuing the series several times.
When asked about Ahsoka season 2, Dawson responded to The Hollywood Reporter back in September 2022: “Hopefully we’ll get a sequel!” Shortly before the start of the series, she reiterated this hope to Entertainment Weekly.
I would be very excited and grateful if more [Ahsoka] comes. Every time I step into the role, I learn more about her. I get to experience [on the show] what I could never experience [in my life], and I feel like I’m getting better at it.
When does Ashoka season 2 launch on Disney+?
If Ahsoka does get a 2nd season, the question is when it will launch on Disney+. The seasons of the Star Wars original series are usually one to two years in production. In addition, there are unplanned delays such as the current strike situation in Hollywood. We should therefore not expect new episodes of Ahsoka before 2025.
What happens at the end of Ahsoka season 1?
The 1st season of Ahsoka comes up with an open ending. Grand Admiral Thrawn heads with the Chimaera towards the planet Dathomir, the home of the Night Witches. The villain is unaware that Ezra is on board. Ezra sneaks away and is reunited with Hera and Chopper on a New Republic cruiser.
Ahsoka, Sabine and Huyang have not made the jump to Thrawn’s ship and return to the Noti on Peridea. Shin, who becomes the leader of the Nomads, is also there. Baylan, her former master, scales a stone monument to the Mortis gods, while Anakin’s Force spirit watches over Ahsoka.
How does the story continue in Ahsoka season 2?
Thrawn’s plan is no secret: he wants to bring back the Empire, and to do so, he’s making use of the dark magic of the Night Witches. The New Republic must now fear zombie stormtroopers, among other things. Before our eyes, the greatest Star Wars story since the Sequel trilogy unfolds in Ahsoka. Series creator Dave Filoni may now even take elements from the original Thrawn trilogy.
Since Star Wars Celebration, we’ve known that all of the series from the Mandoverse – namely The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett, Ahsoka and Skeleton Crew – are working towards a feature film. There has never been such an extensive project in the Star Wars franchise. However Ahsoka’s story continues, we will see the grand finale in Dave Filoni’s Star Wars film.
Which characters will return in Ahsoka season 2?
Based on the end of Season 1, the return of the following characters makes sense:

- Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera Syndulla
- Eman Esfandi as Ezra Bridger

- David Tennant as Huyang
Filoni also seems to have a bigger story in mind for Baylan Skoll. However, following the death of actor Ray Stevenson, it is unclear whether the character will be recast or written out of the series.
