Even though the Barbie movie will have many well-known stars and some fantastic cameos, Saoirse Ronan and Timothee Chalamet just weren’t the right fit. The two actresses participated in Greta Gerwig’s previous two solo directorial efforts, Lady Bird and Little Women. Now, Gerwig is talking openly about how it felt like doing something without her children when they didn’t appear. John Cena will make a cameo appearance in the Barbie movie, but Chalamet and Ronan won’t. The movie, The Peacemaker star plays Merman Ken, and it turns out that Barbie’s Margot Robbie is to blame.
The Suicide Squad, a movie that Cena and Robbie collaborated on, has Cena as Peacemaker and Robbie as Harley Quinn. Since then, the two have remained close.
Why Greta Gerwig had to cut off Timothee Chalamet and Saoirse Ronan from Barbie cameo?
Saoirse Ronan disclosed to People in September of last year that she had attempted and failed to record a cameo in the upcoming “Barbie” film, which is being directed by Greta Gerwig, the director of “Lady Bird” and “Little Women.” It turns out that Gerwig was interested in several further cameos, one of which would have brought Ronan and her together with Timothée Chalamet. The Oscar nominee additionally made an appearance in Gerwig’s two prior works as a single filmmaker.
In regards to having to cut Ronan’s cameo, Gerwig remarked, “Well, it was always going to have to be like a sort of lesser thing since she was actually producing at the time, which I am so happy of her for. Naturally, it’s fantastic. However, it was supposed to be a unique cameo. I also intended to perform a special cameo with Timmy. I was irritated that neither of them could complete the task. But I really adore them. But it felt like I was doing it alone, without my kids. Even though I’m not their mother, I do sometimes feel that way.
What Saoirse Ronan has to say about not working in the upcoming Barbie movie?
Prior to the movie, Ronan collaborated with Margot Robbie in the 2018 historical drama “Mary Queen of Scots.” Gerwig was unable to fit a cameo into her schedule because Ronan was filming and producing “The Outrun” at the same time as Gerwig was filming “Barbie”. From Scottish journalist and author Amy Liptrot’s 2016 memoir, “The Outrun” was adapted.
Since I reside in London and they were filming there, I was meant to make a cameo, Ronan said to People last year. “I was going to portray a whole role, another movie. I was devastated that I failed.
It was later discovered that the “Barbie” script by Gerwig and Noah Baumbach used several performers to portray the titular doll. The film’s main Barbie is played by Robbie, although Issa Rae, Dua Lipa, Alexandra Shipp, Kate McKinnon, Hari Nef, and others also appear as different Barbies. Ronan’s appearance in the film would have been another Barbie.
The Barbie movie is going to hit the theatres on the 21st of July, 2023!
