‘Foe’ is an upcoming psychological thriller that is based on Ian Reid’s 2018 novel of the same name. The film is being directed by Garth Davis who also co-wrote the screenplay with Iain Reid. Amazon Studios won the distribution rights for the novel in 2021.
The film is being produced by See-Saw Films along with I Am That Productions. Transmission Films is distributing the film along with Amazon Studios. Filming began in Melbourne in January 2022 and ended in South Australia in April 2022. Here’s everything you need to know about Foe.

The film first premiered at the 2023 New York Film Festival as part of the Spotlight Gala. Foe is all set for a theatrical release in the United States on October 6, 2023. The film is also scheduled to be released in Australia by Transmission Films on October 19, 2023.
What to Expect in Foe?
Based on the novel by Ian Reid, here’s a look at what we expect from the film. The events in Foe take place in the near future and follow the life of Junior and Hen. One day, Terrance from OuterMore informs that Junior has been selected for a space program and that while he is gone, he will be replaced by a biomechanical duplicate.
Terrace moves in with the couple to monitor Junior and get to know him better to make a duplicate. After two years, Terrance congratulates Junior, revealing another man identical to him – the real Junior who just returned. Terrance shuts down the duplicate and the real Junior reveals he is pleased to be back home.
Hen struggles to adapt to the real Junior and their relationship worsens. She walks out but later returns that night. Hen has changed, she is affectionate and caring. Terrance visits them a few days later and is pleased to see that everything is fine.
