*SPOILERS AHEAD for ‘Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One’*

‘Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One’ – Ethan Hunt is back

The movie starts off with the Russian Submarine, Sevastopol on a secret mission under the Arctic Ice. The crew of the submarine is testing out a top-secret weapon onboard when things go haywire after the weapon backfires on the submarine, killing all its crew and submerging it to the bottom of the sea bed.

Eugene Kittridge, the former director of IMF, contacts Ethan Hunt and puts him on a special mission to find two missing keys which can control a powerful weapon. Kittridge also informs Ethan that one key is with Ilsa Faust and that he must track her down. Ethan finds Illsa in the deserts, somewhere near the border of Yemen but he’s too late as one of the bounty hunters manages to shoot her.

Ethan manages to infiltrate a secret meeting and confronts Kittridge on why he was kept in the dark about the mission. Kittridge confesses to putting the bounty on Illsa’s head and reveals the power the keys hold. Ethan refuses to cooperate and tells him that he’d rather destroy the weapon than hand it over to any government. Kittridge tries to warn Ethan of the consequences, but his words fall on deaf ears.
