Reacher breakout Alan Ritchson has returned to his partnership with Amazon by signing on to star in The Man with the Bag, a holiday family comedy that Adam Shankman (Hairspray) will direct from Allan Ritchson’s script. This comes after the worldwide release of Fast X, in which he co-stars with Vin Diesel and many other notable actors.
The Man with the Bag director Shankman is renowned for his light comedy style and has worked on films like The Wedding Planner, Bringing Down the House, Hairspray, and Rock of Ages. His most recent film, Disenchanted, a Disney+ production with Amy Adams as the lead, was directed last year.
After the theft of Santa’s magic bag, the movie under development at Amazon Studios picks up as he searches his naughty list for Vance (Ritchson), a former burglar who can help him recover it. To rescue Christmas, Vance will have to pull off the biggest robbery of his life with the help of his daughter, Santa, and a bunch of misfit elves.
