‘A Murder at the End of the World‘ is an upcoming television limited series created by Brit Marling and Zal Batamanglij for FX. The series was originally titled ‘Retreat’ when it was announced by FX in 2021. Filming of the series began on February 7, 2022, and finished in late December 2022.
The creators, Brit Marling and Zal Batmanglij have worked together for almost a decade. Netflix’s ‘The OA’ (2016-2019) was one of their works. The seven-episode miniseries is set to premiere on November 14, 2023. The series was originally set to debut on August 29, 2023, with the first two episodes available immediately and the rest debuting on a weekly basis on FX, but was delayed due to the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike.
A Murder at the End of the World: Plot
The series follows Darby Hart, an amateur detective. Darby and eight other guests are invited by a reclusive billionaire to participate in a retreat at a remote and dazzling location. When one of the other guests is found dead, Darby must use all of her skills to prove it was murder against a tide of competing interests before the killer takes another life.
Apart from this, the rest of the plot of the series remains unknown. It has a very similar premise to the film, ‘ A Haunting in Venice’. We expect further details about the plot of the show to be released in the upcoming weeks as the release date draws closer.
