Due to the SAG-AFTRA strike, the red carpet premiere of the Paramount+ series Special Ops: Lioness has been postponed.

“In light of today’s news of an official SAG strike, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the red carpet premiere of Special Ops: Lioness, planned for Tuesday, July 18,” the streamer said in a statement.

One of the first significant events to be postponed as a result of the SAG-AFTRA strike is Special Ops, with the actors starting their picketing tomorrow. Zoe Saldaa, Laysla De Oliveira, Nicole Kidman, Morgan Freeman, Michael Kelly, Dave Annable, Jill Wagner, LaMonica Garrett, James Jordan, Austin Hébert, Jonah Wharton, Stephanie Nur, Hannah Love Lanier, and Sam Asghari were all expected to attend the “Special Ops: Lioness” premiere, which was initially planned for July 18 at the Directors Guild of America Theatre in Los Angeles.

According to the official synopsis, “Special Ops: Lioness, inspired by an actual US Military program, chronicles the life of Joe (Saldaa), who is the tip of the CIA’s spear in the war on terror, as she tries to manage her personal and professional life.

In order to prevent the next 9/11, the CIA recruits Joe to work undercover with Cruz (De Oliveira), an aggressive Marine Raider, as part of the Lioness Program, which is run by Kaitlyn Meade (Kidman) and Donald Westfield (Kelly).
