Shrinking: Dramedy with Jason Segel and Harrison Ford gets second season

Don't miss

The new dramedy “Shrinking” from and with Jason Segel (“How I Met Your Mother”) alongside Hollywood legend Harrison Ford (“Star Wars” films, “Indiana Jones” series) celebrated a brilliant start on Apple TV+ at the end of January. In addition to the prominent cast, the many positive reviews ensured that the streaming provider quickly ordered a second season before the season finale on March 24.

We’ve loved the engaging, touching and hilarious world of ‘Shrinking’ from the beginning, and it’s been wonderful to watch viewers worldwide enjoy these big-hearted characters, says Apple TV+ programming director Matt Cherniss. We can’t wait to see what the cast and creative team have in store for Shrinking Season 2.

In it, Jason Segel portrays a grieving therapist named James Laird, who has just had a tough blow with the death of his beloved wife. When he resumes work in his practice, he decides to break the rules in the future and tell his clients exactly what he thinks. In doing so, he ignores all the ethical rules of his profession – with unexpected consequences.

His new methods soon lead him to make major and tumultuous changes in people’s lives, including his own. This leads to his mentor, Paul Rhoades (Ford) talking him into his conscience. After all, Laird is ruining his reputation, and a shadow is threatening to fall on that of his instructor.

The rest of the cast includes Jessica Williams, Christa Miller, Lukita Maxwell, Michael Urie and Luke Tennie.

“Shrinking” was developed by Emmy award-winning Bill Lawrence (“Ted Lasso,” “Scrubs”) along with Jason Segel and co-executive producer Brett Goldstein. Warner Bros. Television Studios produces the series in association with Doozer Productions for Apple TV+.
