Renee Rapp who is seen in HBO’s Sex Lives of College Girls has called off her role and is set to be seen only in a handful of episodes as season 3 airs. The actress who plays Leighton, a freshman student who is from a wealthy family and is trying to live up to her mother’s expectations, lives in New York. Fans reacted to her departure as she posted on social media thanks the producer and director Mindy Kaling and Justin Noble.

She debuted with the series and has a song Everything to Everyone with EP. According to Deadline she said- “A lot of queer work gets belittled — but playing Leighton has changed my life,” she continued. “I love who I am 10x more than I did before knowing her. I hope she gave y’all a little bit of that too. She’s such a tiny part of representation, but even the tiny parts count. I wouldn’t be half the person I am without her and y’all. I love that b*tch more than you know.”
Rapp ended her statement by teasing that she’s “so excited” for Season 3 and “can’t wait for you to see what we have coming for her and the girls.”
Responding to Renee Rapp’s leaving Mindy said- “We love @reneerapp so much and of course will be so sad to say goodbye Leighton Murray,” Kaling, creator and producer of the series, posted on Instagram Stories. “But we can’t wait to see our friend on tour.”- deadline
Reneé Repp Tour around America
Reneé Rapp is set to be going on a tour around places. The Snow Hard Feelings tour starts September 15 in Houston, Texas, and goes on till November 2 in Brooklyn, NY. Rapp is also performing internationally in February 2024 starting in Paris, France, and ending March 4 in Dublin, Ireland.
The Sex Lives of College Girls is a story about four college roommates in their first year at Essex College. In Season 2 these girls pick up where Season 1 left off, coming back after the fall break, and tackling the challenges and fun of the new semester.
