Fans of Raised By Wolves are undoubtedly anxiously awaiting whether the series will return for a third season. What next for Raised By Wolves then? Join us as we examine Raised By Wolves season three in more detail.
What does the ending of Raised by Wolves mean?
Speaking of the ending of Season 2, let’s talk about what it means for the future of the show. If you haven’t watched it yet, stop reading right now and go watch it. Seriously, go. I’ll wait.
Okay, are you back? Good. Now let’s recap what happened in the final episode of Season 2. Mother and Father managed to escape from the Mithraic soldiers who wanted to capture them and their children. They also discovered that Mother was pregnant with a creature that was implanted in her by Sol, the god that the Mithraic worship. They decided to leave the planet with their children and the creature, hoping to find a new home somewhere else.
However, things didn’t go as planned. The creature turned out to be a giant snake-like monster that attacked Mother and Father and their spaceship. They managed to eject themselves and their children from the ship before it crashed into a hole in the planet’s surface. The creature followed them into the hole, where they found a strange underground world full of ancient ruins and skeletons.
Meanwhile, Marcus, the leader of the Mithraic who had gone insane after hearing voices from Sol, was captured by a group of atheists who had arrived on the planet. They tortured him and tried to get information from him, but he escaped and killed them all. He then found a helmet that belonged to one of them, which had a device that allowed him to communicate with other atheists on another part of the planet.
The final scene showed Mother and Father holding hands with their children as they walked through the underground world. They saw a giant pentagonal structure in the distance, which looked like a portal or a gateway to somewhere else.
So what does all this mean? Well, it means that Season 3 will probably explore more of this underground world and its secrets. It also means that we will see more of Marcus and his quest to find Sol and his son Paul, who was taken by Mother and Father. And it means that we will see more of the snake creature and its connection to Sol and Mother.
Will there be Season 3 for Raised by Wolves?

Sadly, no. After two seasons, HBO canceled Raised by Wolves, leaving fans with many unanswered questions. The network said in a statement that they were thankful for the show’s cast, crew, and creators, but they did not explain why they decided to end it.
The cancellation surprised everyone, especially the showrunner Aaron Guzikowski, who was already working on scripts for season 3. He told Collider that he had no source material and had to create everything from scratch.
The actors expressed their disappointment and urged fans to support the show and hope for a revival. Abubaker Salim, who played Father, tweeted that he wanted to find a new home for the show and asked fans to use #RenewRaisedByWolves.
Raised by Wolves was a unique sci-fi drama that explored themes of religion, humanity, and survival on a mysterious planet. It had a loyal fan base and received positive reviews from critics. It’s a shame we won’t see how the story ends. You can read more below for release date speculation of Raised by Wolves.
Why did Raised by Wolves get Cancelled?
Raised By Wolves was one of the most ambitious and original sci-fi shows of recent years, created by Aaron Guzikowski and executive produced by Ridley Scott. The show followed two androids, Mother and Father, who raised human children on a mysterious planet after a war between atheists and believers destroyed Earth.
The show explored themes of religion, humanity, survival, and family in a captivating and visually stunning way. However, despite HBO Max canceling its loyal fanbase and critical acclaim, Raised By Wolves after its second season. What went wrong?
One of the main reasons for the cancellation was probably the high cost of production, which did not match the viewership numbers and revenue that Max (HBO Max formerly) expected. Raised By Wolves was a complex and expensive show to make, with elaborate sets, costumes, CGI, and locations.
The show also had a slow-burning and intricate plot that required patience and attention from the viewers, which may have deterred some casual streamers who prefer more straightforward and binge-able content. Unfortunately, HBO Max pulled the plug on Raised By Wolves, leaving many unanswered questions and unresolved cliffhangers.
However, there is still hope for the fans of Raised By Wolves, as the show’s producers and cast are actively looking for another platform to continue the story. Abubakar Salim, who played Father, revealed that Scott Free Productions is searching for a new home for the show and encouraged fans to show their support and demand for a third season on social media.
The show’s creator, Aaron Guzikowski, also said he has a clear vision for how the story would end and would love to share it with the fans someday. Raised By Wolves may be gone now, but it is not forgotten.
Raised By Wolves Season 3 Release Date: Speculation!
Between seasons one and two of Raised By Wolves, production was hampered by COVID-related issues, so we can’t infer any clear trends from this. But if the program is resurrected, anticipate seeing season three in 2024 or 2025.
Raised By Wolves Season 3 Cast: Who Will Be In It?

Everyone’s favorite serpent baby, and Morgan Santo’s Vrille are no longer around due to the dramatic climax.
So who will return for season three? The following is a list of our top candidates:
• Amanda Collin as Mother/Lamia
• Abubakar Salim as Father
• Winta McGrath as Campion
• Jordan Loughran as Tempest
• Felix Jamieson as Paul
• Ethan Hazzard as Hunter
• Aasiya Shah as Holly
• Ivy Wong as Vita
• Matias Varela as Lucius
• Selina Jones as Grandmother
Because Niamh Algar is now a tree, she won’t be appearing as Sue/Mary again. The character was originally supposed to be killed off at the end of season one, but at least she survived until season two.
However, Travis Fimmel’s future as Marcus/Caleb is somewhat uncertain. He appears to have passed away at the end of season two but later reappears, floating upside-down over the tree. Does this imply that Marcus has evolved into the Entity’s vessel? If so, Travis Fimmel will likely return even if Marcus doesn’t.
Creator Aaron Guzikowski hinted at some fascinating new possibilities for season three when questioned about this by Decider:
“I can only say so much about that situation without giving anything away. You kind of have to accept it as a moment or a vision, in my opinion. simply follow it and see where it leads. It’s similar to going into a cave and only having the things you brought with you. I can say with certainty that Travis [Fimmel] will return for the third season. I’m able to say that.”

Raised By Wolves Season 3 Expected Plot

For Mother or any of her children, for that matter, things don’t seem good. By the end of season two, Mother was Grandmother’s captive and was held hostage in a mock prison. The majority of our primary characters is also at risk due to plans to degenerate the kids into something less than human.
You can’t keep a good Necromancer down, though, so in season three, Mother will likely manage to negotiate her way out of Grandmother’s incarceration.
And if the cast information we described above is accurate, it appears likely that Marcus will make a comeback as a Christ-like person who the Entity has possessed. Does this imply that Marcus will return or that he is lost like Sue?
If and when HBO Max (Gen:Lock Season 3) decides to extend the show, the answers to these questions and more will be revealed in season three.
