“Fate: The Winx Saga” is and will remain canceled, but even after the end of the Netflix series you can expect exciting projects from the world of fairies, as the “Winx” creator reveals.
- Netflix , rarely at a loss for a cancellation, now also made short work of “Fate: The Winx Saga”.
- But the end after season 2 is actually just a new beginning, as “Winx” creator Iginio Straffi reveals.
- A new series and a feature film are already in the works.
The 2nd season of “Fate: The Winx Saga” on Netflix was received with less goodwill than season 1, but the new episodes were still to be found in the streaming charts for a long time, which made the sudden cancellation a great mystery.
While showrunner Brian Young wrote on Instagram about the cancellation, Iginio Straffi, the creator of the “Winx” world, has now spoken out and shed a completely new light on the situation. According to Staffi, there are good reasons for the cancellation of “Fate” and the end of the series should not have been announced so abruptly by Brian Young.
In doing so, Straffi didn’t miss the opportunity to reproach Young for only being part of the “Winx Club” journey for a few years since Netflix hired him to do “Fate” and therefore he can’t understand the fans’ emotional attachment to the “Winx” world.
Big plans for the future
Straffi calls “Fate: The Winx Saga” a great success that has once again proven the interest in the “Winx” world. Now he is already working on two other big projects, one of which is a CGI animated series. This is supposed to be a reboot, not a continuation of an already existing series.
Also in the works is a “Winx” feature film, which Straffi describes as high-priced and high-quality. It doesn’t sound like the film will be a sequel to “Fate,” but the story will remain true to the values that are so important in the “Winx” world.
For fans of “Fate: The Winx Saga” this news may not mean much, after all, the Netflix series remains canceled. Nevertheless, it was important to Iginio Straffi to show “Winx” fans that the world of fairies will remain with us for a long time. A small consolation that lets us look forward to the future with anticipation.

Fate – The Winx Saga: Alternatives
As alternatives to the fantasy drama series “Fate: The Winx Saga” we recommend “Shadowhunters”, “Vampire Diaries” and “The 100”.
“Shadowhunters” is about Clary Fray, who learns that she belongs to the Shadowhunters group. Their mission is to protect people from vampires, demons and werewolves.
Vampire Diaries” is about Elena Gilbert and the vampire brothers Stefan and Damon Salvatore. They suddenly appear in Mystic Falls and turn the student’s life upside down.
“The 100” is about a hundred delinquent teenagers who are sent to Earth. They are supposed to scout out the abandoned planet and find out whether it is habitable again after a nuclear war.
