Many big movie productions are suffering because of the Writer’s strike. As the strike has cost many production movies and series, this has also hindered the Marvel and DC studios too. Marvel’s ‘Daredevil- Born Again‘ which was set to be released this fall has halted its shoot since May 2 similarly DC’s ‘Penguin’ which was in production halted because of the strike
Marvel’s Daredevil and DC’s Penguin
These big production series were shut down multiple times before the strike due to selecting better writers. The Disney+ and HBO Max series are now pushed to 2024 till further is heard from the producers of the series. Also Marvel’s Thunderbolt and Blade postponed their production to this effect.
‘Daredevil: Born Again‘, a Marvel series has 18-episode series that will feature the return Charlie Cox reprising his role. The actor played the same role in first three seasons, featuring on Netflix. The actor Vincent D’Onofrio is also back as Wilson Fisk aka Kingpin, and Jon Bernthal will be returning as Frank Castle aka The Punisher. Many new faces are also casted in the series but names have been kept in wraps. The executive producers Matt Corman and Chris Ord were seen asked about the potential plot of the dark-series but did not commented upon it.
‘The Penguin’ is set to star Colin Farrell as the DC villain. The series will have eight episodes and is a spinoff from last year’s The Batman, co-written and directed by Matt Reeves. As Matt Reeves co-producing the crime drama is set to stream on Max. The cast includes Cristin Milioti, Rhenzy Feliz, Michael Kelly, Shohreh Aghdashloo, and Deirdre O’Connell, with Clancy Brown and Michael Zegen recurring. ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ and ‘The Penguin’ is expected to be released in 2024.
DC and Marvel upcoming released despite strike
DC’s The Flash is already released and going good at the box office, The Peacemaker and Gotham Knights whereas Marvel’s documentary on Stan Lee is releasing this Friday and also Ahsoka, spinoff from Star Wars is coming this August.
