Set in a patriarchal time where women were taken as reproducing machines. Based on her 2018 novel of the same name, Women Talking by Miriam Tooes, this story tells the revealing tale of a group of women taking a stand for the first time in her life. In small towns in Bolivia, women are treated like prostitutes. They are drugged and later have scars all over their bodies. The film will be released this month. A woman who is pretty crazy and will not forgive her perpetrator. She wants to protect local children. Salome hides the drug in her abused daughter’s food.
Jessie Buckley as Mariche
A woman who has suffered violence and wants to forgive the perpetrator. She is worried that she will never see certain men again, and she hopes to enter heaven. Marish wants to keep her children safe, hold fast to her faith, and take time to think.

A woman who encourages children to respect service to one another. She is tired of being treated like an animal. Agata fears conflict with violence.

Marie’s mother. She wants to turn her pain into fuel. Greta says leaving her community would be her highest act of faith.
