Damar Romeyelle Hamlin is an American Football Player who plays for the Buffalo Bills of the NFL (National Football League). In January of this year, the 25-year-old suffered a cardiac arrest during a Monday Night Football game.

Who is Damar Hamlin?
Hamlin was considered a prodigy when coming out of Central Catholic High School. Before his professional NFL Career, he used to play for the Pittsburgh Panthers, with whom he recorded 41 tackles in the nine games he played. The next year, Hamlin led the Panthers’ secondary with 77 tackles and two interceptions.
In the sixth round of the 2021 NFL Draft, he was selected by the Bills and spent most of his rookie season as a backup before becoming a starter in 2022, following a season-ending injury to star Micah Hyde.

On January 2, 2023, during a Week 17 Monday Night Football game between the Bills and the Bengals, Hamlin collapsed on the field at 8:56 p.m. EST after tackling wide receiver Tee Higgins.
Higgins’s right shoulder collided with the chest of Hamlin who as a defender made a tackle by wrapping his arms around Higgins’ shoulders. Hamlin stood up momentarily before passing out and falling backward.

In February of the same year, Hamlin made a special on-field appearance at Super Bowl LVII, his first public appearance in a month since the incident. In April, Buffalo Bills General Manager, Brandon Beane stated that Hamlin was fully clear to return to the NFL.
