Things get dicey for Negan and the others in The Walking Dead season 11, episode 22. But Eugene is also having a hard time: he’s on trial for the murder of Sebastian Milton. Our recap reveals what happens.
- “The Walking Dead” continues to build the revolution in the Commonwealth with episode 22 of season 11.

In episode 22 of “The Walking Dead” season 11, Negan, Ezekiel, Annie, Princess, Magna and Kelly are still prisoners in a Commonwealth labor camp. Actually, they plan to take advantage of the guards’ shift changes to escape, but Negan messes with the guards.
But in the end, Negan’s plan is to be taken to the camp’s warden that way. He quickly is able to size him up, as he reminds him of his own past. He develops his own plan and wants to sacrifice himself as a martyr for the group.
Negan is taken to an execution site, but the warden decides otherwise at short notice. He now also wants to kill Negan’s pregnant wife Annie. But the Ezekiel and many other ex-Alexandrians stand protectively in front of the two and appeal to the humanity of the soldiers. One of the Commonwealth gunmen actually turns on his colleagues and his superior.
But the supervisor takes Kelly hostage and tries to leave. Just in time, Daryl, Carol and Connie show up. Daryl kills the supervisor and rescues Kelly.
News from Lydia, Aaron and Co.
Lydia, Aaron, Jerry and Elijah left some time ago to see what has become of the other settlements they know. They meet Luke and Jules from Oceanside, who reports that the Commonwealth has occupied their home as well. Moreover, she says, the Commonwealth is hunting for them.
And indeed, soldiers soon show up. Lydia returns to her Whisperers origins and the group disguises themselves with stray clothing to blend in with a zombie herd unnoticed. When she accidentally drops her knife, something shocking happens: One of the zombies picks it up. The undead probably belongs to the more intelligent variety, which Aaron and the others had already met in the abandoned amusement park.
Eugene’s trial
Eugene, meanwhile, is on trial in the Commonwealth for the murder of Sebastian Milton. Yumiko tries to defend him, but it quickly becomes clear that the judge is siding with Governor Pamela Milton. Desperate, Yumiko tries to get Mercer on her side, but he refuses. The trial ends with Eugene being found guilty and sent to prison.
But in prison he is intercepted by Mercer. Mercer decides to help Eugene after all.
The last two episodes of “The Walking Dead” promise a lot of action. With Mercer on their side, Max and Eugene will surely lead the Commonwealth into revolution. You can watch the new episodes every Monday on Disney+.
The Walking Dead Season 11: Part 3 starts on Disney+ – then the series finale rises
Part 3 of the 11th season of “The Walking Dead” starts on Disney+. From October 3, a new episode will start weekly on the streaming service. Also, the series finale of “The Walking Dead” can be seen already on Disney+ from November 20, 2022.
The 11th season of “The Walking Dead” is starting its final third, bringing the final episode of the zombie series ever closer. On these dates, the final episodes of the series start.
That those who are dead live longer is an important basic rule in “The Walking Dead” that helps the living survive. After 11 seasons, however, the AMC series itself will probably be laid to rest: with the third part of the repeatedly paused last season, the final episodes of the hit series will premiere on Disney+.
The first episode of the last third of season 11 will start on October 3, 2022, and the remaining seven episodes will then go online on Disney+ at weekly intervals. Until November 21, 2022 – that’s when the big series finale of “The Walking Dead” is scheduled.
And even if the main narrative comes to an end, the TWD franchise is definitely not really dead in view of the spin-offs and sequels that have already.
