Overview of Twisted Metal
The concept of Twisted Metal revolves around a tournament hosted by Calypso and the participants are labeled as ‘Twisted Metal Drivers’. Last Man Standing is the theme of the tournament as drivers engage in battle with each other using heavily armored vehicles. The winner who is the last driver remaining is granted a wish by Calypso, but these wishes have consequences that reflect the dark grim nature of the game.
In the series, players have the opportunity to select the vehicle of their choice which is piloted by a unique character. Clown-themed Sweet Tooth, and Motorcycle Riding Reaper, are just some of the iconic lineup of drivers available on the roster.
In 2012, Sony Pictures Entertainment planned on releasing a movie on the big screen, but later Sony passed on it because they felt the movie would not go in line with the fanbase.
