On the official Twitter account of the anime adaptation of “You Were Experienced, I Was Not: Our Dating Story”, it was announced that it will start airing on Japanese TV in October 2023.
Our Dating Story Anime: Opening song unveiled
“Our Dating Story” is being directed by Hideaki Ooba (“I’m in Love with the Villainess”) at Studio ENGI. Hiroko Fukuda (“Taisho Otome Fairy Tale”) is responsible for series composition, while Yousuke Itou (“Holmes of Kyoto”) is creating the character design.
The trailer, which you can watch below, introduces the opening song of “Love You Tender!” by singer and voice actress Maaya Uchida (opening “The Helpful Fox Senko-san”). The ending “Kakurenbo” is by the rock band AliA (opening on “Inou no AICis”).
The original light novel by Makiko Nagaoka has been published in Japan since September 2020 with illustrations by magako. A manga adaptation by Noyama Carpaccio has been published on the “Gangan Online” website since February 2022. In English, the work is available through Square Enix at “Manga Up!”.

High school student Ryuuto Kashima is an outsider and, as part of a punishment game, has been forced to ask Runa Shirakawa, whom everyone admires, out. Unexpectedly, the latter agrees, as she is currently free. Despite different social statuses and hobbies, over time the two acknowledge their differences and accept them as something that unites them.
