Hocus Pocus 3 on Disney+: The Sanderson sisters are gearing up to fool your minds again

Don't miss

Hocus Pocus 3 is finally here: Thirty years after the initial release of the first film, the Sanderson sisters will return in Hocus Pocus 3 to wreak even more wicked havoc. The family cult movie’s sequel was eventually approved, and Hocus Pocus 2 was released in 2022 with the three stars returning as the Sanderson sisters.

The 1993 film Hocus Pocus was directed by Kenny Ortega and was based on a story by David Kirschner and Mick Garris and a screenplay by Mick Garris and Neil Cuthbert. The franchise revolves around the three witches who unintentionally come back to life on Halloween night.

Surprisingly, the plot of Hocus Pocus 2 stays up in 2022. In this fandom-served sequel full of action, drama, comedy, suspense, eerie vibes, and even love, the Sanderson sisters have not lost their touch, filling in some previous story gaps, exposing the past, connecting dots, adding a few musical numbers, and serving up a side of witchy humor. The movie eventually became every kid’s dream Halloween movie, and even their parents can agree on it.

Disney+ is working on a new sequel of Bette Midler, Kathy Najimy, and Sarah Jessica Parker-starring movie. The New York Times recently spoke with Sean Bailey, president of Walt Disney Pictures, about The Little Mermaid publicity. After the 2022 Disney+ original sequel, Bailey told the outlet during the interview that Hocus Pocus 3 is now under process at Disney.

What Mysteries the Hocus Pocus 3 will unfold for fans?

The third movie would come after Kenny Ortega’s 1993 debut and Anne Fletcher’s follow-up, both of which starred Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy as the Sanderson sisters, Winifred, Sarah, and Mary, a trio of witches who drain the life force from kids in an effort to stay young.

Executive producer Adam Shankman made it clear to The Hollywood Reporter at the Hocus Pocus 2 premiere last year that there were further stories to be explored. Teen Becca (played by Whitney Peak) was first seen in that movie and later revealed to be a witch.

Shankman praised Fletcher for “handling that [storyline] really, really beautifully.” Becca made a discovery. We debated whether or not it would continue to function after that, but Anne just said, “This is what we’re going to do. I also think it’s fantastic. Additionally, it sparks a lot of interest in future spinoffs.

Will the original cast return for the third part of the film?

They may always return, says Whitney Peak, the lead of the sequel. A third film would be challenging to do without the Sanderson Sisters because it is their film. They are the supernatural. Without them, it’s difficult to conceive what a movie would be like.

The OG cast who weren’t in Hocus Pocus 2 has reportedly informed EW that they’d be open to acting in a third movie, which is more thrilling. Binx the cat’s voice actor, Jason Marsden, claimed he would “absolutely” participate in the threequel.

Allison’s actor, Vanessa Shaw, expressed a similar desire to return, saying: “Yeah, it’s such a great story, and obviously having us reflect on this makes it that much more fun, and the fondness keeps increasing. Let’s see what the Sanderson sisters have to offer to the fans in the upcoming movie. Till then, stay tuned for all the inside deets.
