A teaser trailer and a promotional poster were also released, featuring Goblin Slayer and his companions.
Another thing to note is that the animation studio for the second season will be different from the first one. The first season was produced by White Fox, which is known for works such as Re:Zero and Steins;Gate. The second season will be produced by LIDENFILMS, which is known for works such as Cells at Work! and The Heroic Legend of Arslan. It is not clear why the studio change happened, but we hope that it will not affect the quality or consistency of the animation.
Goblin Slayer Season 2 Release Date
“Goblin Slayer II” will be directed by directed by Misato Takada at the studio LIDENFILMS. Hideyuki Kurata (“Made in Abyss“) is once again handling series composition, while Hiromi Katou (“Monster Girl Doctor”) is responsible for character design.

Goblin Slayer Season 2 Plot

As of now, there are 15 volumes of the light novels released in Japan, with a 16th volume set to come out on July 14, 2023. The English translation is lagging behind, with only 14 volumes available as of now.
The first season of the anime covered the first and second volumes of the light novels, while the movie covered the fifth volume. Therefore, we can expect that the second season will cover the third and fourth volumes, as well as some parts of the sixth and seventh volumes.
The third volume focuses on a festival in Goblin Slayer’s hometown, where he meets an old friend who asks him to help her investigate a mysterious ruin. The fourth volume focuses on a mission to rescue a noblewoman who has been kidnapped by goblins. Along the way, Goblin Slayer and his party encounter new allies and enemies.
The sixth volume introduces a new character named Sword Maiden, a powerful cleric who was once a hero but now suffers from trauma caused by goblins. She hires Goblin Slayer to deal with a goblin infestation in her city’s sewers. The seventh volume features a battle between Goblin Slayer’s party and an army of goblins led by an ancient evil known as Dark Elf.
Of course, these are just speculations based on the source material. The anime might deviate from or add to the original story in some ways. We will have to wait until the second season comes out to see how it will adapt the light novels.
