The recent Disney + Marvel series have not been doing so well, to say the least. Marvel’s most recent, Secret Invasion received an overwhelmingly negative response after the show’s finale. Secret Invasion with a budget of over $210 million had a finale that was only a measly 35 minutes long. The fight sequence with the main antagonist, Gravik, was barely 5 minutes.
The New Disney + Marvel Series ‘Loki Season 2’ which is part of Phase 5 of Marvel and will see Tom Hiddleston reprise his role as Loki. Along with Tom, Sophia Di Martino, Owen Wilson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Wunmi Mosaku, Eugene Cordero, and Tara Strong are among others reprising their roles.
Loki Season 2 is all set to release on October 6, 2023.
$143 Million for Loki Season 2
As per Forbes, Disney has spent around $143 million on pre-production and filming for the second season of Loki. This is an even smaller budget than Secret Invasion, which, safe to say, Tanked.
The finale starring Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury ended a lot of questions being unanswered. What is more surprising is the fact, it was a limited series and won’t be renewed for a second season.
Episode 6 of Secret Invasion received a critic rating of 13% on Rotten Tomatoes. That isn’t just low in terms of Marvel’s history, it’s one of the lowest-rated episodes in TV History. Secret Invasion even surpassed Marvel’s ‘She-Hulk‘ in terms of disappointment.
Considering the recent releases from Disney + Marvel, a few fans remained skeptical about Season 2. Expectations ride high on Season 2, following the success of the prequel. Season 1 of Loki was one of the most-streamed Marvel shows of 2021 and fans are hoping Season 2 delivers.
Season 2 will continue from the timeline of Season 1. There are speculations that new faces are likely to join but Marvel has yet to reveal any information about that.
‘Doesn’t matter how much, what matter is how Disney spends it’
Fans mostly remained skeptical about the upcoming Season 2 of Loki being another flop. Secret Invasion with a budget of over $200 million had some of the worst CGI (Computer Generated Imagery).

Tom Hiddleston/Loki fans remain hopeful and are looking forward to seeing the God of Mischief return to the big screen. Many shared online that it would outperform Season 1. We will find out when the show releases on October 6, 2023.
