Will Assassins Pride Season 2 ever be possible? What are the odds?
Assassins Pride is one of the many fantasies shows that somehow got the attention of anime fans back then, but sadly not in a good way. Sure, fantasy can be considered one of the popular genres that most anime pursue, but it is really a hit or miss, and unfortunately, Assassins Pride falls under the latter. However, this doesn’t stop the series to receive fans that genuinely curious about the story.
Assassins Pride began life as a Japanese fantasy light novel series written by Kei Amagi with illustrations by Nino Ninomoto. Fujimi Shobo has published it under their Fujimi Fantasia Bunko imprint since January 20, 2016. By the time of writing, fifteen volumes have been released, including two short stories that were out on February 20, 2018, and December 20, 2019, respectively.
The light novel series Assassins Pride was adapted into a manga series drawn by Yoshie Katō. It was serialized in Shueisha’s seinen manga magazine Ultra Jump from May 2017 to August 2022. The chapters of the manga have been collected in ten tankobon volumes before coming to an end.
Assassins Pride Season 2 Renewal Status
Assassins Pride was not only adapted into a manga but also into an anime series that was announced during the Fantasia Bunko Dai Kanshasai 2018 event on October 21, 2018. The television series was animated by EMT Squared, the studio that has released a few other anime such as Love Tyrant, I’m Quitting Heroing, and last but not least, The Master of Ragnarok & Blesser of Einherjar.
The anime adaptation of Assassins Pride premiered on October 10, 2019, and ran for twelve episodes before concluding on December 26 of the same year. As the anime has gathered quite a lot of fans, many of them are craving to see the continuation of their beloved series. So, what is the renewal status of Assassins Pride? Has Assassins Pride Season 2 been green-lit?
Unfortunately, we haven’t received any new information after the release of the first season. With that being said, the current whereabouts of Assassins Pride Season 2 are still questionable up to this point.
Will Assassins Pride Season 2 be feasible?
Assassins Pride Season 2 might be possible, but the chances are close to nil. The main reason is that the anime series was not well received by many anime fans, and has scored poorly on both MyAnimeList and IMDb, with a rating of 5.93 and 5.70, respectively.
However, one of the studio’s underrated shows, Rainy Cocoa, received a number of sequels despite the amount of hate that the first season received, even worse than Assassins Pride itself. With that in mind, if the same patterns are followed, Assassins Pride Season 2 might just be possible.
In terms of source material, the studio would have more than enough of them to make a season renewal. The first season has only covered no more than four out of thirteen volumes of the light novel series. The studio can easily make two or more seasons with the remaining source. However, it seems that the light novel has entered a hiatus state, marked by the thirteenth volume that was released two years ago, which is on March 19, 2021, to be exact.
At the end of the day, fans should not have high hopes for Assassins Pride Season 2. However, with the current state of the anime industry, where many shows had an unexpected return everything seems to be possible. With that being said, if somehow Assassins Pride gets any new information in the future, we will surely let you guys know.
